The Ural is indeed a throwback to WW2 motorcycles. With modest upgrades and new technology the Ural is more or less a copy inspired by the old ww2 BMW's. With a somewhat spotty track record for some components being reliable the Ural is a rugged and old fashioned bike and sidecar you can take through some punishment.
