Plans to bring that most iconic of British sports car names back to the US market have fallen through once again, reports Automotive News. Nanjing, now Shanghai Automotive, has scrapped plans to both import MG-TFs from England and to build them in Oklahoma from knock-down kits shipped from China...  

LONGBRIDGE, England — Production of 500 MG TFs kicked off here in August, but plans have been dropped to bring a revamped version of the roadster to the U.S., according to Gary Hagen, the marketing director of NAC MG.  

MG's plans to return to North America with a revamped version of the TF roadster are dead.

CAR giant MG Rover formally appointed administrators yesterday as the company's factory at Longbridge in Birmingham came to a standstill following the collapse of rescue talks.  

In addition to a revamped version of the current TF LE500 roadster, NAC, the Chinese owner of MG is planning to introduce three new models in Europe according to company's managing director, Gary Hagen.  

NAC MG UK and Caterpillar Logistics Services (UK) have agreed a deal under which the latter's subsidiary, XPart, will manage the supply and distribution of spare parts for MG TF cars to the Chinese automaker's new 55-dealer network.
