It has been a busy month for our spy over in Germany. These most recent shots show a mysterious looking Maserati getting some much needed test time on the Ring.  Heavy camouflage has led some to believe that this is a new Maser from the Italians that also have brought you the GranTurismo and Quattroporte.  This is not the case though.

When we take a look at the rear end of this Maserati we can’t help but think that this is the new Maserati GranTurismo Spyder burning some Italian rubber. Looking more closely it is also quite apparent that the shape of the GranTurismo , its headlights, and taillights are pretty much the same as you would find on its brother car the GranTurismo coupe.

Look for the new Maserati GranTurismo Spyder to be powered by the same V8 found in the enhanced and more powerful GranTurismo S. If you’re in Europe rush to the showrooms come March 2009 for one exciting open air driving experience. We’ll take ours in black with red exterior, if that’s not quite your style then there are numerous configurations for this new Maserati.
