Volkswagen is adding a sportier touch to its Passat CC model with the European market launch of an 'R-Line' equipment package that was previewed at the Frankfurt Motor Show last September. Sadly though, the R-Line model is simply about cosmetic and convenience features as the package does not include any sort of performance upgrades. On the outside, the R-Line sports package adds 17-inch or optionaly, 18-inch "Mallory" alloy rims with 235/45...  

Some of us are old enough to remember the controversy when Volkswagen finally gave up the classic Beetle. But we’re also young enough to appreciate the VW GTI. As far as what to call this car, I wish VW would make up its mind. It was the Rabbit back in the 1970’s, then the Golf, then Rabbit again, and now we hear it is the Golf. November 2009 Auto Sales AnalysisEverybody take a step back.Volkswagen Group -5% Volkswagen (-5%) did slightly better than Audi (-7%) in November, but the bright spot of the VW Group actually was Bentley (+70%). Other good news came from the Audi A3 (+54%), the Volkswagen CC (+36%), and the Volkswagen Tiguan (+34%). Sales of the Audi A8 fell by half, ahead of a new model, and the not-so-New Beetle fell almost as much (-49%) in the first month...

The Volkswagen Touareg is VW’s feeble attempt to create a true off road luxury SUV and…and…oh, who am I kidding? Even though I am a Jeep owner, I confess…I really like this thing. And if you’re wondering exactly what the heck a Touareg is…I was, too. The closest I can come is a tribe of wandering Berbers who live in the Sahara. Other than being 4-wheel-drive, I really don’t see the connection, but what the heck. It’s a great truck, so they can...
