When supercar and uber luxury car manufacturers get together with masterclass timepiece makers, the result is going to be both obnoxiously expensive and strikingly beautiful. These two new timepieces are no exception. The first, above, is a collaboration between Swedish supercar maker Koenigsegg and watchmaker EDOX. The hinged flaps are supposed to make one think of the gullwing doors on Koenigsegg CCR supercar. However, priced at a cool $21...

i'm proud of them too. i would've been there if i still had my saab. i desperately want saab to survive, and i would be quite resentful of gm otherwise. from what i've read about the koenigsegg deal that went sour, gm was not very easy to deal with. i really really hope the spyker deal goes thru. gm, it's time to do something good, nice, and right. otherwise, i'm swearing off any and all things gm forever snorkelingsarcosuchus001

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- General Motors is shutting down its Swedish car brand, Saab, after attempts to close a deal with a buyer failed. GM had announced earlier this year that it was close to reaching a deal with Swedish super-carmaker Koenigsegg. That deal fell, though. "In the end, Koenigsegg discovered some issues they didn't think could be overcome in a timely fashion," said John Smith, GM vice president of corporate planning and...

[Cross-posted] I know I blogged enthusiastically about the potential of Koenigsegg buying Saab to put its solar-powered car into production but, as we know, that deal has since fallen through. Saab?s future is uncertain again, even if Dutch company Spyker?which, like Koenigsegg, also makes specialty sports cars?has expressed an interest in buying it. There are still a couple of other bidders, Renco...
