One of the world’s fastest and most powerful convertibles is made by G-POWER. The 335-km/h G-POWER M6 HURRICANE is based on the latest BMW M6. At the heart of the high-performance convertible is a five-liter V10 engine with G-POWER BI-Kompressor system that delivers 635 hp / 467 kW. To achieve the desired increase in power output of 128 hp / 94 kW for the fast-revving engine that normally produces 507 hp / 373 kW, G-POWER has developed a high-tech supercharging system. The system uses one belt-driven ASA T1-12 compressor for each cylinder bank. Contrary to conventional mechanical chargers that waste a large portion of ... Read Full Story

BMW 1 M version

Car Magazine has asserted that there will be an M version of the 1 series, although BMW denies that the M1 nameplate will be resurrected in respect for the M1 supercar of the late 1970s.

BMW 1 Coupé

BMW will be launching the latest addition to the 1 Series line-up, the 1 Series Coupé (E82), at the Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung (IAA) 2007. It goes on sale on 24 November 2007. The flagship of the range will be the 135i with a 3-litre twin-turbo petrol engine (see Twin-turbo), generating 225 kW/306 hp (DIN) with its six cylinders. This model also comes with a modified M sports package as standard. The 123d (150 kW/204 hp(DIN)) heads up the range of diesels and is the first ever 4-cylinder diesel engine to come with variable twin-turbo technology. In terms of fuel consumption, the 123d and 120d rate between 4.8 and 5.2 l/100 km.

On June 27, 2007, BMW released official information about the new upcoming 1-series Coupé. In Europe, the Coupé would be available fall 2007 in 3 engine specifications: the known 120d and the new 204 hp 123d and 306 hp 135i, both biturbo engines.

On 30 June 2007, BMW of North America officially announced the 1-Series Coupe as a 2008 model (code named E82) and that will be be the first 1 Series to go on sale in the USA. Two models are initially to be offered: the 128i and the 135i. The 128i will be powered by a 3.0 liter, 230 horsepower inline six cylinder engine. The 135i Coupe will be propelled by a 300 horsepower, twin turbocharged 3.0 liter inline six cylinder engine. Both engines are shared with 3-series models 328i and 335i. Many auto enthusiasts have decried both the lack of a diesel option in the US, as well as the decision to offer only the coupe version.

Like the three and five-door BMW 1 Series models, the E82 also features various BMW EfficientDynamics components to reduce fuel consumption (see below). The Coupé is 133 mm longer than the hatch, creating 20 litres of extra boot space. It is 220 mm shorter than 3-series Coupé (E92). 120d, 123d and 135i Coupés' announced unladen weights (EU) are 1450, 1495, and 1560 kg, respectively (corresponding to approx. 3285 lb curb weight for 135i - 90 lb reduction from 335i Coupé).

The 1er Coupé can be seen as a successor to the legendary BMW New Class with its long bonnet, slim cabin and short rear. Apart from slight modifications, it uses the same nose design as the rest of the 1 Series so as to ensure some optical consistency within the range.

It was just announced in July 2007 that BMW will be bringing the 128i and 135i Coupés to the United States in early 2008. It will be priced about $8,000 less than the 3 Series Coupé.

BMW 1 Convertible

A convertible resembling the 1-series has been sighted doing testing on the Nordschleife track in Nürburg, Germany. It would be referred to as the 1 Series Cabrio.

Yes, you read correctly; up until today, the asking price on eBay for this customized 1988 BMW 6-Series Coupe was a mouth-dropping quarter of a million dollars. Almost as insane as the $950,000 for the pipe-dream Plymouth Road Runner Concept we told you about in a recent posting. However, after a truckload of questions and suggestions but not a single offer, the seller decided to change tune and reset the auction setting a starting bid of $45...

(By ANN M. JOB, For The Associated Press) The model year on the BMW 650i is 2010, but this lengthy, smooth-riding, luxury coupe and convertible feel a bit like yesteryear.Theres the old BMW styling, with a back end that looks subtly "smushed" in and headlights that seem sliced off at the top. The roof is fabric and contrasts with the current trend of retractable hardtops on the latest, newest convertibles.

Back in the late 1980's, when the BMW M division's portfolio was far more limited than today's lineup which comprises of models of all sorts and sizes including SUVs, the Bavarians had an idea; what about creating an E34 M5 Convertible? Actually, it was more of an idea as BMW went ahead and developed a complete prototype that was supposed to be introduced at the 1989 Geneva Motor Show. However, sadly the firm's high-ranking executives pulled...

Hot on the heels of the recently revised 3-Series saloon and station-wagon models, the hardtop convertible and coupe versions of the Bavarian automaker's most successful model series are also going to receive a mid-life facelift and we've caught them both lying around in Germany in light camouflage. The spy shots suggest that the cosmetic changes on the two-door models will be more subtle than on their sedan and estate siblings. Both the 3...

Das Germans sure love playing around with colors as Wiesmann -unfortunately- proves with its new, limited edition Roadster MF5 that made its global debit at the 2009 IAA in Frankfurt. The rear-wheel drive roadster with the white finish and red detailing is powered by a BMW M6 / M6 5.0-liter V10 with 507 horsepower and 520Nm / 383 lb-ft of torque that launched the MF5 from zero to 100km/h (62mph) in just 3,9 seconds and on to a top speed of...
