Teams entered the season fourth ambitious goal to fight for World Championship title.Building new car is a big challenge. Fundamental change in the rules have, in many cases, fruit consignment of experience to the trash. Development work on what is a racing car that radically different to be done earlier than usual. Indeed, the concept phase for BMW Sauber F1.09 started back in February 2008. Cars 2009 to cut the numbers are very different from all predecessors. The nose is taller and much wider than before. Large front wing consists of three elements and stretches across full width of the car. Rear wing, on the other, is much leaner – in line with new regulations – and extraordinarily high stand against air onrushing. Counteract this, however, is a new developments are team has the option to introduce next season: KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System). The component parts of this technology adds an additional weight on the rear of the car. In addition to aerodynamics and optimal use of slick tires, KERS integration is another key challenge for engineers. For this purpose, the front axle and rear axle has been changed is the new design.Willy Rampf is responsible for the concept of F1.09 and will oversee operations at the race track in its capacity as Technical Coordinator. Managing Director of  BMW Sauber AG Walter Riedl will lead the technical department at Hinwil in Switzerland and has responsibility for developing the car. While chassis is work the team Hinwil, KERS technology has developed in Munich.
