Heidfeld: Rainy days and karting always cheer him up

BMW Sauber F1 driver Nick Heidfeld reckons wet races suit him, and the BMW F1.08, best.

In an interview with the BMW F1 website, Heidfeld explains how his best results have been on wet circuits, not just in terms of points but also performances. And this talent on comes from his karting days back in Germany.

"I like driving in the rain," said Nick.

"Even in my karting days I liked driving in the rain best. My brother Sven and I always preferred to go out on the track when it wasn't that full - and that used to be the case when it was raining. And in Germany the rain falls all too often."

"You have to opt for a positive approach. If you say: 'Damn, it's raining,' you are tense right from the start. And if you make a minor mistake with this approach, you tend to say, 'I knew this would happen.'

"But if you like racing in the wet, you won't even begin thinking about these kind of issues."
