Having Trouble Retaining Staff? Outsourcing is the Answer

By Darron Skinner-Martin

If you have a business, it can be difficult to find good help at a fair price. Most small businesses have trouble making ends meet, and paying for someone to do tasks you don't have time to do yourself can get expensive. However, utilizing business process outsourcing (BPO) techniques, you can get several tasks done inexpensively so that you don't have to do them yourself. Outsourcing BPO staff may be a cost effective way for you to get these things done, too. In addition, the Internet has made it very easy to keep in touch with outsourcing contractors even if they're working in a separate location from you.

There are several types of BPO. You can BPO staff offshore or you can simply outsource on site or within your country. There are a number of BPO companies which can provide you with the security measures to ensure your investment is 'less risky'. The purpose of outsourcing is to save money with very little overhead costs or benefits such as sick leave and superannuation (or retirement plans such as 401K). BPO staff can do some of the following job roles as well as much more.

Data entry: If you have mailing lists, financial figures, inventory, or just about any type of source data that you need to track of, data entry is a necessary part of your business. Especially if your business is high-volume, data entry can take a long time to do. If you don't have time to do it yourself, consider having this particular task completed by BPO staff.

Telemarketing: Sales by telephone, or call centers If your business relies on telemarketing or sales by telephone, outsourcing BPO staff can be a good way to manage your telephones without having to break your bank. Call centers, too, can be managed out of house by outsourcing BPO providers.

Client Support: All businesses require customers or clients. The power of BPO staff can be seen in the areas of customer service. By outsourcing staff you are able to offer unparalleled customer support for all your products. Improve your businesses productivity by employing BPO staff to manage help desks for products, appointment confirmation and much more. This is all possible with out the expense normally associated with employing local in house staff.

Virtual Assistant: Is your business growing faster then the cash flow? If your business requires a virtual assistant to answer emails/phone then using BPO staff is a possibility. Perhaps your in house receptionist can do all the meet and greet and your virtual assistant does emails, data entry and/or calls clients. If even half the work your current receptionist is doing is on the computer/phone then a virtual assistant could be the answer to your problems. Your current in house receptionist could even do other tasks to increase your productivity.

Accounting and Bookkeeping: If your business has significant financial records to keep and you don't have time to do it yourself, you can hire BPO staff for accounting or bookkeeping services. Outsourcing will be significantly cheaper than hiring a full-time accountant or bookkeeper locally. You will be able to have access to a full time bookkeeper to do your day to day financial concerns at a fraction of the cost of most bookkeepers.

No matter how good you are at your business; there are only 24 hours per day. Outsourcing BPO staff to do all those low level tasks is now possible without the cash flow burden. Outsourcing staff will give you the time to focus on what you do best; your business.
