Babies..."damaged goods" due to lack of parenting skills!

By Julian Ayrs on  From ijulian.blogspot.com
The other morning as I was exiting Starbucks, a woman strode up to the front door of the popular cafe pushing a stroller with a baby inside. Then, for some inexplicable reason, she turned the buggie on its wheels and scurried off the other way. As I alighted from the cafe, I noticed her cowering in the corner near a table. Other patrons were staring at her oddly, too. When I asked her if she'd like some assistance opening the door, she mumbled something incoherently.Perplexed, I went on my way...Read Full Story

Throwing Babies

By Mr. Mai Tai on  From thetikioasis.com
In the United States if you find a four leaf clover you consider yourself lucky. In India you have to make your own luck. One lucky ritual has you throw your baby off a 50 foot tower. if you threw a baby off a 50 foot tower you would go to jail.  In India it means it is time to party.Read Full Story

Noah's Progress

By Sheila on  From noahandkaeden.blogspot.com
Today, i asked baby Noah where his drink was. That was with matching sign language for "drink". :D He was looking at me, staring for a few seconds like trying to decipher what i was saying. He knew what i was talking about as he turned his back and looked at the direction where his sippy cup was. He went to that direction, got his sippy cup but didn't give it to me. That's ok, though. For me, this is another major progress for him. Proud of mah baby! :DThis is just a picture of Noah being...Read Full Story

By Patti Gresham on  From doodledudsdepotblog.blogspot.com
My son planned a delightful lunch-get-away with his daughter. The plan was to enjoy the pizza and entertainment and the kids and noise at a nearby popular eatery. Too cool!!...just Dad and she!All went according to schedule, including the wide-eyed anticipation of a 2 1/2yr old embarking on a thrilling adventure...too cool...just Dad and me!All was perfect...until...the stage show began...the loud speakers blared at a deafening volume as the floor rumbled beneath their chairs, the lights...Read Full Story

Who Me???

By Jeane on  From bluemondie.blogspot.com
Andrew is spending lots of time moving around and off his play mat so that he can explore. It was sooo much easier when we could plop him down on the mat and be confident that he would stay there.*Since he can't quite figure out how to get his ample belly off the ground, he rolls from front to back and back to front or spins around on his tummy like a pinwheel. It's not fast, but is productive....he eventually works his way off the play mat onto the living room floor! And then grins to let...Read Full Story

The Secret Language of Babies

By Rollene Goodman on  From goodnitemoon.com
I decided long ago that singing is not in my genetic makeup. In fact, the only tune I can carry is a case of CD’s. I have also never had much of an ear for pitch or tone either. The only one who is calmed by my singing voice, is my six month old son, Maddox. He loves my version of “Old MacDonald’s farm,” especially my moo’s and quack’s, and he actually smiles when I belt out “You are my sunshine.” The hand motions help. I haven’t yet decided whether he’ll be able to carry a tune, but right...Read Full Story

Bottle transition!

By Felicia on  From menearfamily.blogspot.com
Ugh, So Ally is 11 1/2 months, and magically at 12 months she is supposed to be off the bottle.  Sounds like an alcoholic or something so serious.  I know this will be difficult for me because both my other two were on the bottle way past 1.  I think Evie was almost 3 and Topher was over 2.  I am hoping to do this right this time, but not so confident!  I have started to give Ally milk occasionally.  She loves chocolate milk!  That isn't the problem.  The real problem is that she associates a...Read Full Story

going crazy

By Felicia on  From menearfamily.blogspot.com
Snow snow and more snow!  We've been stuck at home for a few days and it shows.  Christopher is going bananas here.  He's off the charts wild.  Hitting and poking everyone just for a rise.  He spent so much time in time out today! An example:  I got the candy jar down told the kids to pick something.  Then I went to get Ally from her crib.  Topher came running by with Evie screaming behind him.  He took her sucker and all the other ones! Ran and hid under my bed!  So I got him out and took...Read Full Story

What Makes Funny Babies Funny?

By coghill on
How come? Babies are amusing. Babies in the jungle are just as amusing in the street. They hit the funny bone of most everyone on earth. Babies burp, belch, drool, pass gas and grownups collapse laughing. If an adult did it, we would be offended, but when a baby does it we see the funny side.   Guileless The biggest factor in  lies in the perceived innocence. Tests have discovered babies are almost 100% self-centered and extremely mindful of the impact of what they do. Babies get mad...Read Full Story

Talking, talking, and babbling.

By Felicia on  From menearfamily.blogspot.com
Evangeline is just talking more and more every day. As you know her first real word wasn't exactly what we had hoped for. However, Saturday after she picked up my shoe I swear she said shoe. Which is more like her since she has been fascinated with shoes since she first discovered her feet. She has more pairs of shoes than I do, and even prefers to wear different ones on different days. She also seems to be saying so much more. I'm not sure if she is or if as a parent I am making more out of...Read Full Story
