Girl I Left Behind Me – Medley March – Victor Military Band
Victor 10 inch record #18371-B, “Girl I Left Behind Me – Medley March”, played by the Victor Military Band (recorded August 16, 1917). While you’ re watching some vintage autos draped in bunting chug by, a roar rips through the sky, and a couple of jet fighters make a pass over the parade route…. and here comes a detachment of Civil War re-enactors, in blue and grey – and they’ve got their own band, too, with vintage uniforms and instruments, playing a medley of period tunes (although why they chose “Auld Lang Syne” for their set is a bit of a mystery)…… Played on a Columbia BI ‘Sterling’ Disc Graphophone, circa 1910.
