Are You Stumped for Ideas for Baby Shower Games?

Okay, you’ve come up with your baby shower theme, you’ve decided on your budget, and you know what kind of baby shower food your plan to serve. The baby shower decoration choices, as well as the baby shower favor choices have been made. You chose the perfect baby shower invitation, and the baby shower cake is ready to be picked up from the bakery . . . all that is left is figuring out what kind of baby shower game (or games) to play.

Are you stumped for ideas for baby shower games?

Sometimes, the baby shower is so busy that no matter how many games you have planned to play, there just is not time for everything. However, there are those situations where there is time available and it would have been nice to have some games planned. Here are some baby shower game ideas if you are stumped:
  • The Name Game: hand each guest a piece of paper and a pencil. Ask them to fold the paper down the center of the page width-wise to create two columns. Down the side of one column, ask them to write the mom-to-be’s name and down the other side of the column ask them to write the dad-to-be’s name. Next to each letter in the names, ask each guest to write as many baby or child related words as they can come up with. The person who can think of the most words in a given period of time wins!
  • Guess That Baby Thing! For this baby shower game, you will need an assortment of baby items (baby rattle, baby bottle, etc.) and a blindfold. Place the items into a bag or a box, and blind fold the player of the game. Ask them to pick up the items from the bag or the box, and guess what they are holding. The person who guesses the most items wins!
  • Guess Who? Ask each guest to come to the baby shower with a baby picture of themselves with their name written on the back (or a sticky note with their name written on it is fine). Hang plastic baggies on a corkboard, and place each picture inside each baggie. Ask guests to guess which picture belongs to each guest. The person who guesses the most baby pictures correctly wins!
  • Baby Shower Bingo: even though this is a popular baby shower game, baby shower bingo is a great “fall back upon” option if you are not sure how many baby shower games you will have time to play. Use pacifiers, baby booties, or other baby items as the game pieces.

Even though it is going to be a busy day, having baby shower game ideas ready is always a good idea. Sometimes guests will want to do nothing more than socialize while enjoying good food and beverages, while others will wonder when the games are going to start. Let your guests lead you when it comes to the events of the baby shower and it will surely be a hit!
