DON'T MISS
Project Runway fans, rejoice! Season Six is on after much legal drama and anticipation, so brace yourself for "sometime this summer," when the show will allegedly air.
Although the show's still going on, it's switching networks from Bravo to Lifetime. NBC Universal released a statement explaining the exchange:
NBC Universal, the Weinstein Company and Lifetime have resolved their disputes. The Weinstein Company will pay NBCU for the right to move Project Runway to Lifetime. All of the parties are pleased with the outcome. Problems arose in the first place when NBC Universal (Bravo's parent company) sued the Weinsten Co. (which produces
Project Runway) for breach of contract, claiming Weinstein signed a deal with Lifetime before NBCU had a chance to refuse or match the terms of the contract. Complicated.
Anyway, the show is now back on track and ready to please some eager viewers. The whole season has already been filmed in Los Angeles, and the top three designers even sent their collections down the runway at New York Fashion Week in February.
The new contract also states that the show will stay on Lifetime for the next five years, and it paves the way for the spinoff series
Models of the Runway. Looking forward to many more years of
Tim Gunn and
Heidi Klum!
