Baclofen

Baclofen is a drug for muscle relaxer and antispastic agent. It is used to treat muscle symptoms caused by multiple sclerosis, including: spasm, pain and muscle stiffness. It is also used for other needs that are not listed here.

Baclofen can cause side effects that disturb reactions and thinking. Be careful if you drive or do anything that require full awareness. Avoid drinking alcohol because it may increase some side effects of baclofen.

Don’t use it at the time when patient takes the harmony of motion and muscle balance for a specific activity. In some situations, it will endanger the physical safety due to lower muscle harmony.

You can relieve symptoms, such as: hallucinations or seizures, when you stop after using it for a long time. Don’t stop using it suddenly without first talking to your doctor. You may need to stop it step by step before totally stop.

Call emergency medical help if you have any signs of an allergic reaction to this:

  • Itching skin with redness
  • Difficult breathing
  • Swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat

Contact your doctor if you have the following serious side effects:

  • Seizures
  • Hallucination
  • Irregular heartbeat

Other side effects:

  • Drowsiness, dizziness, weakness and feeling tired
  • Headache
  • Nausea
  • Constipation
  • Urine more than usual
  • Sleeping problems

Symptoms of those side effects are incomplete and others may appear.
