The Badgley Mischka fashion label started in 1988 when Mark Badgley and James Mischka graduated from Parsons and decided to launch a company together.
Badgley Mischka Spring 2010 Bridal Collection
The atmosphere was frenzied as people crowded into Badgley Mischka’s showroom, for one of the most hotly anticipated bridal gown collections. Mark Badgley and James Mischka, known for their complex embellished gowns, showed their designs both on red carpet and in wedding aisle, for Spring 2010 bridal collection.
This time, they kept adornments to a minimum. They focused on strong, sleek silhouettes like strapless taffeta trumpet gowns with elegant fit and flare look that recalls the kind of old Hollywood glamor beloved by new Hollywood. They were understated, but with enough glitter to be spectacular and eye-catching.

A trumpet gown was draped with delicate strings of Swarovski crystal like a chandelier. One shoulder looks were prevalent, and one particularly striking dress featured a grosgrain ribbon as a strap, almost like a beauty pageant queen’s sash.
Badgley Mischka also bestowed delicate chiffon ruffles to great effect in both bridal and bridesmaid dresses, seemingly tailor-made for dancing portion of wedding reception. The bridesmaids dresses came in cool blue shades of lilac, iris and periwinkle.
Though Badgley Mischka falls on highest end of bridal collection spectrum, ready-to-wear apparel, footwear and jewelry; they’re branching out an economical territory with their “American Glamor Collection,” a line for HSN, which will debut on November 17.
