I expected The Ballas Hough Band's first album to be like so many other celebrity-turned-singer albums, all fluff and no talent. I have to admit I was wrong! What I knew of them was from their appearances on Dancing With the Stars, so I wasn’t expecting  pop music! Their sound is Very boy-band, but in a good way.  The Ballas Hough Band credits Michael Jackson, Prince, Queen, and Nirvana as their early inspirations and their influences can be heard throughout. I've been tapping my foot for about the last 20 minutes and, to be honest, I'm quite surprised. This is the fourth time I've listened to the Ballas Hough Band's CD, BHB, which is their debut album released by Hollywood Records. During my first listen the sound interrupted my work for about 10 minutes before it blended into the background and easily fueled my work. ABC/KELSEY MCNEAL OK, we understand Mark Ballas and Derek Hough are totally into the whole music thing. But they must know that we know from watching Britney , Paula and other pop-music makers that, if you're doing a taxing dance routine while performing live, you're probably not doing a whole lot of actual singing.
