Ban on Trans Fats

SACRAMENTO (AP) — Artery-clogging trans fats are out in such food-loving cities as New York and Philadelphia. On Friday, California became the first to try to kick the trans fat habit on a statewide scale.  

California became the first state to ban trans fats from restaurants after several cities started the trend in the last couple of years.  

SACRAMENTO, July 25 (UPI) -- California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger says a bill banning trans fats in restaurant food by 2010 will lead to a "healthier future for California."  

California today became the first state to prohibit restaurants from using artery-clogging trans fats in preparing their food.

CALIFORNIA Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a new law today that will outlaw artificial trans fats in restaurants from 2010.  

California became the first state in the nation to outlaw trans fats from restaurants and food facilities today, as Governor Schwarzenegger signed off on a bill banning the artery-clogging oils and shortenings.  

California restaurants will no longer be able to prepare food using trans fats, under legislation signed on Friday by Gov.

Thanks to the Governator who has banned trans fats in California : Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has made it official: California will be the first trans-fat free state in the nation.  

The measure, passed with a bare majority, comes two weeks after a similar ban in New York City became fully effective.
