New York's Ban on Trans Fats

New York's Board of Health has given restaurateurs till July 1, 2008, to eliminate the fats from all foods.
---
Trans fats are believed to be harmful because they contribute to heart disease by raising bad cholesterol and lowering good cholesterol levels at the same time.
---
Some experts say that this makes them worse than saturated fat. Representatives of the restaurant industry have denounced the ban as burdensome and unnecessary.
