Bangkok's Nana Plaza
Bangkok's Nana Plaza is a 3 story warren of go go bars in the city's naughtly Nana red light district. The full name is Nana Entertainment Plaza and often condensed to simply NEP. However you call it, Nana Plaza is a magnet for men behaving badly.Nana Plaza draws millions of visitors every year. Though most of those visitors are sex tourist for some it's just a place to gawk at Thai bar girls shuffling around stripper poles. There is no full nudity inside the bars but bar girls do bear their breast to entice customers to step into the doors.
It's an old building with new beer bars in the courtyard and with all the kitschy bright neon lights one would easily mistaken Nana Plaza as a carnival and not a sex mall. Every go go bar inside are fronts for prostitution. Patrons take a seat at a bar that interest them and if they see a bar girl they'd like they simply tell the Mamasan and in a flash the bar girl steps off the stage and is seated next to you.
Followed afterwards is an etiquette. Customers are required to buy a drink for themselves. It can be a bottle of water or a bottle of beer. And if customers call down a bar girl for company he or she must purchase a lady drink for the newfound companion. Lady drinks cost around 130 Baht which the bar girl gets a commission. The same etiquette in Nana Plaza applies to the other red light districts in Bangkok.
If the customer wishes to take the next level he has the choice of taking a bar girl to a short time room or their own hotel room. Short time rooms cost around 300 Baht for the hour and there are several short time rooms available inside Nana Plaza. Or if a customers hotel is near Nana Plaza he can simply head back their. Just make sure the hotel has a bar girl friendly policy or else management will demand a joiner fee that cost 500 Baht and up.
Another thing to keep in mind is customers have to pay a bar fine to the bar. This is a fee for taking the bar girl out of the establishment. In Nana Plaza these fees range from 500 Baht to 600 Baht. Ladyboy go go bars which are famous in Bangkok's Nana Plaza charge a 600 Baht bar fine.
Nana Plaza is definitely one of Bangkok's naughtiest red light districts. At night it's not a family oriented area and even during the daytime matter of fact. Since there are many beer bars open in the early afternoon with ladies for hiring around at all hours it's easy to see why men choose their hotels near Nana Entertainment Plaza .
