With effect from this year (i.e. 2012), all major PSU banks in India have started recruiting their Probationary Officers (PO) based on IBPS CWE (Common Written Exam) score. While they have invited application form for the PO/MT positions, they have set the eligibility of IBPS CWE minimum marks that you must have scored in the CWE.
This gives us a very good benchmark to set how much marks you should score in IBPS CWE for different bank for future IBPS exams like IBPS CWE (PO) 2012, IBPS CWE (PO) 2013 etc.. It is only if you score this IBPS CWE cut-off mark that you can expect a call for the final selection process of that bank i.e. Interview/Group Discussion.
This is the subject matter of this blog article. You can know about the minimum IBPS CWE marks by going through the minimum eligibility criteria set by the individual banks in their recruitment notifications. But since this would involve much time, I have done this job for you – compiling the eligibility of minimum IBPS PO CWE score for all the banks
Nineteen Public Sector banks had participated in IBPS CWE 2011, based on which the PO recruitment this year (i.e. in 2012) is being done now. Out of the nineteen, eight banks have so far issued recruitment notification, details of which can be found from following dedicated blog posts:
These eight banks have in total issued recruitment vacancies for 10705 PO vacancies as given at right
Following 11 banks are yet to issue recruitment notification:
1). Allahabad Bank
2). Andhra Bank
3). Bank of Baroda
4). Bank of Maharashtra
5). Central Bank of India
6). Dena Bank
7). Indian Overseas Bank
8). Oriental Bank of Commerce
9). Punjab & Sind Bank
10). United Bank of India
11). Vijaya Bank.
I am going to post the information as a blog article as and when the notifications are issued by these banks.
IBPS CWE cut-off for marks PO:
Meanwhile, I am posting below the minimum IBPS CWE cut-off for PO set by these banks below:
In the table given above, I have also given the minimum percentage marks to be scored in your graduation for General/OBC category candidates- for the reserved category candidates (i.e. SC/ST/PD), the percentage required in Graduation for Bank PO is 5% less.
These are the minimum cut-off mark specified by banks to be eligible to apply for the bank PO jobs. However, depending on the IBPS CWE scores of applicants and the vacancy, banks may choose to shortlist the candidates for interview even higher than these minimum cut-off marks
So as you can see from the table, you should try to
score minimum 160 out of total 250 marks in IBPS CWE to expect a call for Interview. You can see the %age of these marks in the table below:
While Union Bank has not specified any cut-off marks for PO, Canara bank has specified IBPS CWE TWS cut-off as 58.4% - the highest so far. With lesser marks, you can expect call from banks such as Union Bank, Bank of India etc.
Hope above information helps to size-up your mind on how much to score in IBPS CWE 2012/2013. Keep visiting this blog as I am going to update this post regularly with data for the remaining 11 banks cut-off as an when the notifications are issued. Bye for now!
