When I Grow Up

I often wonder if Banksy was ever arrested, would he be forced to remove all of his graffiti as some sort of punishment? Probably not. However, how many of the graffiti artists that he has spawned would be treated differently? Everyone wants to be as cool as Banksy don't they? That's the idea behind this bit of work. We all know Blek le Rat is better anyway don't we? Read Full Story

Kissing Policemen Stencil by Bansky, Brighton & Pride London 2009

This is a photo of Kissing Policemen Stencil (in Brighton, UK), by Banski , a a pseudo-anonymous English graffiti artist. His artworks are often satirical pieces of art on topics such as politics, culture, and ethics. His street art, which combines graffiti writing with a distinctive stencilling technique, is similar to Blek le Rat, who began to work with stencils in 1981 in Paris and members of the anarcho-punk band Crass who maintained a graffiti stencil campaign on the London Tube System... Banksy Versus Bristol Museum: Banksy Exhibit Opens

I noticed this video last week for the largest Banksy exhibit to date, Banksy Versus Bristol Museum , which started last Saturday 13th June. As a massive Banksy fan I must say that I was very excited by the prospect of so much of the elusive street artists work under one roof. Admittedly there has been some scepticism from critics claiming that his very presence in such an exhibit goes against everything he stands for… but I think it is still fantastic, and will definitely be finding the time... Banksy's "Village Pet Store and Charcoal Grill"

Banksy has created an insane installation in the West Village (that's NYC, of course): an animatronic leopard, fish sticks swimming in a fish bowl, chicken nuggets that peck at a dish of dipping sauce... Crazy. Amazing. It's open from 10am - Midnight until halloween. 89 7th ave, between West 4th and Bleeker I'll be there tonight at some point. See you there? Read Full Story

Banksy and his Damn Rats

The recent pieces of Banksy Art in New York this week have caused quite a stir. The first mural was a sketch of a rat drawing on the wall and the sketchiness was presumably intentional as the people who actually painted the piece were from Colossal Media a professional outdoor media company. This appears to be a new tactic for Banksy and one which is proving to be unpopular with some Banksy Posters on the various Internet forums, although how any Artist (who is supposed to be anonymous and...
