"EVERY time I think I've painted something slightly original," graffiti artist Banksy once said, "I find out that Blek le Rat has done it as well.  

Banksy, who has been fairly quite for the past few months, has produced another print entitled “No Ball Games.”  It shows two children throwing around a concrete slab with the slogan plastered on it. An interesting turn of events have unfolded over the last month in regards to Banksy’s ‘IKEA Punk’ piece in Croydon, London. Since our initial coverage back in September, it was defaced by vandals in November during a public vote. By the time a local council in south London completed its vote on the preservation of a mural by the street artist Banksy, the majority decision to keep the artwork was a moot point.

Two pieces of art in the style of Banksy have been entered in this year's Turnip Prize. The Turnip Prize is a spoof of the annual Turner Prize for art, frequently ridiculed for entries such as Tracy Emin's unmade bed.  

The abundance of CCTV cameras is a controversial issue in the UK. Banksy produced this piece next to a camera at a Post Office yard, and so was being watched whilst he worked! It was his biggest work in London at the time. ...  

Banksy has donated two of the works featured in his hugely popular summer exhibition to the Bristol museum that hosted it. The elusive Bristol graffiti artist has allowed a statue and a model to remain as exhibits at the City Museum and Art Gallery in Park Street.

A Banksy piece which we reported on earlier (here) has been defaced while a public vote was taking place calling for its preservation.  While more than 93% of the 250 voters urged the Sutton council to keep the Banksy piece, the Beddington Farm Road mural was ironically tagged over by the same mindless graffiti that [...]  

The seemingly endless hand-wringing over what to do with Banksy murals took a new twist recently. Sutton Council organised a public vote on whether to share or to shaft the punk-themed stencil on Beddington Farm Road. Ninety-three percent of respondants wanted to keep the mural (although it should be noted, only 250 people voted, despite our appeal). But the nays to the right took the law, and the spray can, into their own hands and...

Normally the city council of Sutton (UK) is very much of the "No Graffiti Here, Thank You," school of thought. But then a famous graffiti guy, Banksy, did a piece! So they voted to preserve it. Too late! This is where you say "That's ironic!" and some grammar nerd's like "This is not technically a case of 'irony'" or whatever. I guess it's "funny." [Pics: Robin Gunningham]
