Barak Obama, Barack Obama, Beebop Obama. What's in a name. Is it significant that the average american has no idea how to spell a candidates name, never mind understand its cultural significance. Will Barack Obama face an uphill battle to win the hearts and minds of average America because of his name?
I just read an article about Barack Obama's name. It mentioned that lots and lots of people are mis-spelling his name in blogs, search engines, and papers. I've also heard radio talk show hosts and late night comedians joke about Barack Osama and Borat Obama and Obama bin Ladin. Is his name a liability? When it comes to elections I always look at a candidate’s record. What legislation did he or she sponsor? Where does he or she stand on issues I care about? While I never found a candidate that I could agree one hundred per cent with, while I never found someone without some flaws, I pride myself on voting only after I do an exhaustive study of those running.
