Barbara Bui Resort 2012 Womenswear Collection

Barbara Bui has recently celebrated her first opening of her own store in Los Angeles; the matter that created a need for new and exotic designs such as those introduced for resort 2012 by Barbara. Barbara’s collection was considered a casual trend more than a classic one. It included only few classic pieces that came in white color with an elegant couture touch in the long floor-length evening dress. The softness within Barbara’s collection came in about 4 pieces; a simple, long evening dress; a short white formal day dress and two silk jumpsuits. Unlike the other casual designs created by Barbara, the cuts were few within her formal garments to ensure simplicity. Other casual looks included many colors, mostly combinations of orange, light peach, black and brown with a bit of white to lighten the collection. Many details and cuts were made in almost all pieces, and some came with beaded embroidery on the bodice for making a changing and showing some femininity.

Barbara’s collection has not come from a certain inspiration and wasn’t based on a certain point of view either. Her designs were just youthful, trendy and soft within her formal style. Her best piece this season was the silk jumpsuit. She also liked the idea of the formal jackets paired with leather pants, besides the tweed and denim jackets that came in different colors and prints. Pencil skirts, mini skirts and plisse-skirt dresses were so elegant and all came of beige and white. A drapey detailing was never a matter that such smart designer would forget. She made many drapey details in the over knee casual dresses and paired them with elegant big-sized handbags and thick leather belts. Suede was used in many skinny pants and shorts as women shorts came in many lengths, and velour was used as well.
