Barbara Stanwyck

The release of Robert Wagner's new autobiography brings Barbara Stanwyck back into the news. The internet and bookstores are buzzing with the story - Robert Wagner and his romantic relationship with Barbara Stanwyck, 23 years his senior and his co-star in the 1953 Titanic. I have to admit that when I heard this most recent story, I immediately thought of Barbara Stanwyck on television as Victoria Barkley in Big Valley. From 1965 to 1969, Big Valley held us captive in front of our television sets. It was a time for westerns on television, and we watched them all! Barbara Stanwyck was born July 16, 1907 and died January 20, 1990 in Santa Monica, California. My favorite quote from Barbara is "Career is too pompous a word. It was a job and I have always felt privileged to be paid for doing what I love doing." Thank you, Barbara Stanwyck, for entertaining us all!
