Weight loss surgery and transfer addictions

Many people who have weight problems have food addition problems. I know I'm in that category. While the various surgeries like vertical sleeve gastrectomy prevent you from overeating they don't prevent you from transferring that addiction to something else. Transfer addiction is common in addicts of all sorts. Think of a smoker who transfers that addiction to chewing gum when they quit smoking.
