Special Report!  So, today was the first day of the “legendary” Barneys Warehouse sale in Los Angeles.  It started at 9 a.m.  I got there at around 10 a.m. since I’m not a big fan of lines, and I can live with the die-hards snatching up whatever they need to.  After paying $12 for parking at the LA Convention Center (South Hall), we entered a very crowded scene, with not very much merchandise.  It was disappointing to say the least.  At previous sales, clothes were categorized by designer in alphabetical order.  This time, it was just 4 rows for Women’s.  One row was Designer, and the other three were Ready to Wear.  Not only that, they were just categorized by sizes, and by clothing type, such as dresses, pants, tops.  The accessories table was very empty with only rejects left.  The shoe section was a mad house with a very long line of about 100 people waiting for their other pair of shoe.  Shoe racks were empty with not much selection.  The more disappointing part was that the clothes were mostly Barneys Co-Op label, their private label.  We found some cute dresses from Chloe Sevigny x Opening Ceremony, and a cute knit polo dress with a cut out back by Carven that was very Match Point.  Alas, we did a few more rounds, just hoping something would come up, but we left empty-handed.  With that being said, I have scored a few great items at the past sales.  So, you never know, but I say skip it.  It’s better to go to the actual Barneys New York or a Co-Op during sales.  On a good note, though, there were way more mens clothes and shoes than women’s, like nice Thom Browne shirts.
