In a heated presidential campaign the war of words between the two leading democratic candidates Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama has been raised on the issues of race and civil rights.  Either candidate will make history if they secure the support of their political party in their bid for the White House. Hillary Clinton may become the first female nominee or Barack Obama who has already secured the endorsement of former Presidental candidate Senator John Kerry may become the first presidential African-American candidate. As the race draws closer remarks made by Hillary Clinton about Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and former President Bill Clinton describing Barack Obama's election bid as a "Fairy Tale" are coming under fire. BET Founder Robert L. Johnson gave a speech about Barack Obama's troubled past while speaking in support of Hillary Clinton and he again raised the issue of race playing a major role in the campaign.
