The Fratellis have said in many interviews that they got their name from the family of bad guys in the 1985 movie The Goonies This is also mentioned as a source of the band's name by Real Network's Rhapsidy music service. However, Barry Wallace's (Barry Fratelli) mother's maiden name is also Fratellis.

On October 1st, they released their first live DVD "Edgy In Brixton" in the UK, which was recorded at the London Brixton Academy. The DVD contains a full live performance and the band being asked questions by members of The Fratelli's website. On October 30th, it will be formally released in the USA.
