News: Bart Scott To Agree With N.Y. Jets According to The Sporting News, former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Bart Scott will join head coach Rex Ryan and play for the New York Jets. Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that the deal will pay Scott about $8 million a season. The Ravens offered Scott around $7 million to stay with Baltimore. Playing his entire seven-year career in Baltimore, Scott shined in 2006 when he finished the season with 103 tackles, 9.5 sacks and 2 interceptions. The New York Jets have bolstered their defense in a big way, signing former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Bart Scott to a six-year, $48 million deal. The 28-year-old Scott agreed to terms early Friday, visited the team and signed later in the day, agent Harold Lewis told The Associated Press. Scott will make $27 million over the first three years of the deal. Free agency has all but arrived, and ProFootballTalk.com is reporting that the Ravens are looking to make a late push to try and sign linebacker Bart Scott. Here is the tidbit from their site late Thursday night: Albert Breer of SportingNews.com reports that the Baltimore Ravens are making a late push to re-sign linebacker Bart Scott. Citing an unnamed league source, Breer reports that the Raverns are doing “everything they can” to keep Scott from becoming a free agent at midnight.
