Battlestar Galactica Season III, Epsisodes 1 & 2 Review

This review contains spoilers for the first few episodes of season 3.

I can honestly say that after a long stay without Battlestar Galactica (BSG), it is good to be back in the pilots seat again with season 3 recently purchased. I know it has been out for a few weeks, but my money does have other places to be!

I will try and review a few episodes a week, but not in so much detail that there will be no point in watching them! Just the highs and lows or things to pay attention to!

Episodes 1 - 2:

The Good:

• Admiral Adama calls Lee a "fat ass" and calls him soft.
• Explosions, Cylons getting whacked and the resistance is rising!
• Cylon on Cylon violence, one Cylon shoots another in the head!
• A general feel of purpose for the characters. The fleet is planning to return, can't be a bad thing!

The Bad:

• Gaius Baltar still lives.
• Cylons becoming so much like humans it is annoying.
• Slow pace for the majority of the episodes.
• Mass executions

The synopsis

• The fleet is planning a return to New Caprica to help their people left behind while the Cyclons carry out mass executions on "Dissidents." The resistance resorts to suicide bombings, a tactic that causes some drama...everywhere. There seems to be too much complaining by the Cylons. For machines, they talk more than act. The story of them becoming "human" and finding God is getting a little over done.

The Score

• Overall the first 2 episodes were very good. I am not sure if that is because it has been so long since I have seen them, or if they are just really that good!
