Battlestar Galactica: My thoughts on episode 4x18 "Islanded in a Stream of Stars"

It's hard to believe that we have only one more episode (albeit a two-parter) after this week! It will be so weird, not having BSG on TV anymore. I mean, where else will I get my weekly fix of philosophical sci-fi goodness? At any rate, let me appreciate the show while it's still around. Here are my thoughts on this week's episode.
Is Boomer finally starting to grow a conscience? Or, maybe at least a twinge of guilt. We first see evidence of this when Boomer utilizes her super awesome parenting skills (um, not!) while trying to subdue Hera aboard the Raptor. Like any kid would who has just been kidnapped, Hera starts crying and whining, once she realizes that this is a one-way trip, away from her parents and towards the Cylon baseship/Cavil/absolute uncertainty. Boomer doesn't comfort Hera like a normal person would--she waves around a hypodermic needle and mentions that "they don't come in kiddie doses." Naturally this sets off Hera even more. Then she offers Hera some food, which Hera refuses to eat, and rightly so--I mean, for all she knows, Boomer could've laced the food with sedatives. A modicum of peace is finally achieved when Boomer and Hera collectively Cylon project to Boomer's little dream house. (Coolness, they can have fun projections together! Cylon/cylon hybrid bonding moment. Sorta.)
Anyway, the penultimate evidence of Boomer's possible awakening of guilt is when Boomer drops off Hera with the ultra-creepy Cavil who's all like, "Don't worry Hera, soon you'll have more toys/playmates than you could possibly imagine."
(Um, no offense Cavil, but that's not entirely reassuring. Especially coming from a creepy old frakker like you. Especially cuz all Hera could care about is the fact that her parents are presently light years away.) At any rate, at this moment, suddenly Boomer's conscience goes ping ping ping ever so faintly, and she's left feeling bereft/upset/childless, even as Cavil is walking away with Hera in his arms, reassuring both of them. Perhaps this is foreshadowing for Boomer having some massive guilt complex, which can only be redeemed through some form of self sacrifice? Or maybe not. I mean, there's only the frakking finale left, not much time to wrap up all the loose plot ends, I suppose.
Aww, Lee and Starbuck had a moment: Starbuck finally comes to a solid realization about herself--that she's not a Cylon, not an angel, but a regenerated human being. Umm, reincarnation, anyone? And then--who's there for her, but Leland himself. Aww, sweet huggy moment--except not. There's too much water under the bridge. Plus it would be hella awkward for them to snog in front of Dee's picture, you know.
So yeah. Just some of my random ramblings on what is probably one of the best sci-fi TV shows to ever grace television. Still can't believe that there's only the finale left! :(
