Lose weight
Are you doing anything important right now? Most likely the answer is nothing much since you are reading this. This may be a shock but sitting at the computer doing nothing, you are hurting yourself and your body. You must be thinking what does this guy mean?"How am I hurting myself?" Well my friend it very simple.
The human body is made to move. It's a well oiled machine that gets better the more it is used. And by sitting around doing nothing, your body parts are building up gunk that can stop this well oiled machine from running at its peak performance. What is this gunk you ask? Well its body fat. Everyone has body fat, it is something that cannot be avoided and is essential for life. However, too much fat can cause major problems and your body relies on you to control that fat. Just the simple act of getting up and going for a walk or controlling what you eat can do wonders for you. Keeping your body in tip top shape can improve your life over all since you need your body for everything. It can also help you look more attractive and help you feel more confident about yourself.
I myself was once one of those people who sat at home and did nothing but play World of Warcraft and eat. It sure was fun but then one day I took a look at myself in the mirror and said, "Whoa"! I was shocked that I had become bigger along with gaining 22 pounds in just a year. It was something that did not look good. For a few months now I have been wondering when it all started. How did I reach this weight and not notice? While in deep thought I came to the realization that I have been doing nothing but stuffing my face and sitting around all day. My machine was filling up on gunk and was having trouble running. Then one day I decided to do something about it and change. I went on a diet. Well, at least I tried to. I tried many different ones such as calorie counting, carb counting, etc. You name it I've tried it. But I was able to finally shed those pounds off and dropped about 30 pounds in a short period of time. With some easy guidelines that I want to share with you.
1. Make your food at home - Cooking food at home is an easy way to not only cut fat intake, but also cut spending. You can cook multiple meals at once and spread them throughout the week by freezing leftovers. It also gives you full control over what is in your food. Fast food restaurants have all kinds of preservatives that aren't digested properly as well as other ingredients get saved in the body as fat. Cut that fat out by cutting fast food. This also allows you to portion out your sizes appropriately for the next meal ahead of time. Tupperware will be your best friend here.
2. Get that P power - Protein is one of the major nutrients that the body needs. It is one of the foundations that make up all the muscles in your body. Things like fish, chicken and certain cuts of beef are going to help you. This doesn't mean scoff down 20 burgers and think you've had a healthy meal. No sir it does not. Chicken and fish would do better for you in the long run than beef, but that doesn't mean a nice steak is bad for you. Cook these meats by grilling them for the best results. Especially chicken in things like a George Forman Grill. The grill drains the grease and fat that comes off the meat leaving you with healthy food. Season your food with things such as Pepper, Italian Seasoning, and what not. This will not only stop you from adding things like Salt, but will bring out the flavor in something untouched would give you. Trust me, you're going to like the taste and it will fill you up.
3. Don't suck it down - Whoa take it easy buddy. The food isn't going anywhere and neither are you if you are hungry. Take time to chew your food thoroughly and properly. Digestion starts in the mouth with chewing. Spend an extra few seconds chewing your food more than you normally do. Not only will this make it easier for you to break down, but also has you feeling fuller faster thus requiring less food. Like in a recent Men's Health article I read, "Resist the urge to unhinge your jaws and swallow it whole."
4. Have you been drinking? - Like milk, water is good for you. The body is made up of over 60% of water. That means without it you would have problems. Drink some water. The recommend amount has always been said 7 cups a day. Seems like a lot of water. Rather than drown yourself trying to get that much water, just drink it only when you are thirsty instead of that soda. Soda is full of sugar and other nastiest. Just by switching to water, you cut out all the bad stuff that soda does to you. Just drinking water alone can help you lose a few pounds or so. Couple that with food and you got a limiter. By limiter I mean that if you drink water a bit before a meal and sip on it while you eat, you will consume less for. And you know what else that means? It means a cheaper food bill since you got that sucker on lock down.
5. Stop stuffing your face - Eat foods that are filling and slow to digest such as oatmeal or have eggs for breakfast. 2 eggs versus 3 donuts can make a difference between wanting to kill someone for the next meal or happily going n about your day without thoughts about when you are going to eat. Filling foods are your best friend and stop you from feeling hungry more than you should. Besides 2 eggs are healthier for you than 3 donuts hands down.
