The Beatles- The Musicians That Changed The Planet

Four young men came together to create one of the most successful groups in history in 1960, in Liverpool, England. Living on forever as legends of rock, they grow to become an inspiration to all other bands that came after. They changed the face of music forever and continue to find more listeners all the time.

In 1965, all four members of the group were welcomed by Queen Elizabeth II when they were given the highest honor as she knighted them, officially making them world-wide stars. Their unbelievable renoun only grew and they continued to grow their fan base across the globe from that time forward.

Fans loyally follow the remaining members to this day, and even though they were only collaborating for 10 years, The Beatles each worked steadily after the group’s disbandment. On December 8th, 1980, when John Lennon was shot and killed, fans all across the globe were shocked and mourned his loss together. The surviving Beatles all took part in musical tributes to their fallen bandmate, and although they had not formally been a group in a decade, Lennon’s death affected them all very hard.

The next Beatle left us when George Harrison succumbed to lung cancer on November 29th, 2001, leaving only Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr to carry on the legacy of The Beatles. Still to this day, Beatles vinyl is some of the most listened to on the market, and their esteem has never waivered, even after all this time.

Winning an Academy Award for Best Original Song Score for the film ‘Let It Be’ in 1971, and have also won 7 Grammy Awards and 15 Ivor Novello Awards, The Beatles were one of the most successful groups ever. They have been awarded four Multi-Platinum albums, 4 Platinum albums, eight Gold albums, and one Silver album in the United Kingdom, selling more record albums than nearly any other group in history, on top of the 6 Diamond albums, 24 Multi-Platinum albums, thirty-nine Platinum albums, and forty-five Gold albums in the United States alone.

The Beatles have proved to be influential over multiple decades, and have inspired movies, on top of too many other bands to count. Sculptors have dedicated pieces of art to the group, and although they have been broken up for more than forty years, they still hold a special place in hearts around the planet. Their songs continue to stay true, entertaining audiences everywhere without fail and setting the bar for all other groups to follow, even as their supporters continue to grow old, The Beatles really are kings of rock and roll.
