The TV world has lost another great. Actress Beatrice Arthur passed away early Saturday morning at the age of 86. Reports from a family representative states that she had been suffering from cancer, although it was not reported what type. She died peacefully in her Los Angeles home with her family by her side. Bea was my favorite Golden Girl with her deep voice, height, and sarcastic quips. She also played Maude , which originally aired on CBS in 1972. I have nothing much to write except to note that one of the great comedienne actresses passed away. Bea Arthur with her masculine form of femininity truly showed everyone how it was to be the consummate lady. She was a trailblazer. She was Maude and she was Dorothy. She was always Bea. Tears are shed because she is no longer among us. Thank goodness for reruns. She will live forever. I loved the Golden Girls. It was the Sex And The City of its time. I think Dorothy was the one that really made the show funny.
