Back To School Beauty Inspired By 2008 Teen Choice Awards

So, I know its been a while for HMS, but I've been so busy with schoolwork. Totally overwhelming!
Hey, speaking of school, I've got some great new looks that are going to have you looking like a star for every single day of the week. Whats the point of having a new outfit for the first day of school if you hair and makeup doesn't look equally as nice?

I saw the red carpet looks of the 2008 Teen Choice Awards inspired these gorgeous finds. I'll make the directions very quick and easy to do on the days that you are late. And, each look goes well with specific events. Basically, I've got your new school year all plotted out for you.



Leighton Meister of Gossip Girl fame looks like someone just told her a very naughty secret. This baby cute blushing face makes a perfect everyday look for flirting your way to A's:
  1. Use a tinted moisturizer with opalescent finish to give yourself a clear complexion. Do not use powder; it make your skin look matte and cake-y.
  2. Use a lighter colored beauty powder with a kabuki brush and run a fine veil of color all over your face [Diorshow powder in Girly pink, Guerlain Meteorites Pearls Compact, Milani Shimmer Stripes].
  3. Apply the blush on the apples of your cheeks [Bobby Brown Shimmer Blush in Washed Rose, Pop Beauty Blush Cakes in Warm in Sienna or Pretty in Pink (NP).
  4. Apply a pink-coordinated eyeshadow over lips. Use the darker color as a contour. If you don't want to purchase all of these items separately, then I suggest the Fresh Island Reverie Palette or DuWop the Roses eyeshadow set.Run the lightest shade (the highlighter) unto the brow bone and on the inside of your bottom lid.
  5. Swipe a tinted moisturizer over your lips for a naturally flushed look [M.A.C. lip conditioner in Petting Pink or Fuschia Fix].





Tia Mowry's bronzed skin is perfect for a big party on a hot Indian summer. Perfect for girls of color with no major complexion problems or discoloration.
  1. Apply self-tanner the night before your big day [Clinique Self-Tanner].
  2. Swipe concealer or a sheer coverage stick over the areas that need help, just to ensure a pure canvas[Smashbox Camera Ready Full Coverage Concealer, Lorac Coverup Concealer]. If you are afraid to choose a shade on your own, then try a no-tint brightening powder [bareMinerals Well-Rested].
  3. Use Clinique Color Surge eyeshadow Quad in Spicy or Nars Duo Eyeshadow in Surabaya. Use the deepest color on the crease of your lids. Blend the lightest color on the rim and the lid itself. Use the darkest color and a liner on lids.

  6. Use Nars Lipliner in Kenya to outline your pucker's shape and swipe lips with M.A.C. Neo Sci-Fi lipglass in Soft & Slow.
  7. Finish with Allison Rafaelle Finish Transparent powder to set makeup on face and neck.





 




Girls of color can glow just like anyone else.This look is perfect for a hot date. Here's how to get Scarlett Johansson luminescent complexion (do not use if you have acne or oily skin):

Vanessa Hudgens and Jessica Szohr' s pin-straight hair
If you finished your homework and the weekend is nigh, how about taking these tips on how to wow your friends with pin-straight tresses so sleek you could slice Shushimi, courtesy of Jessica Szohr and Vanessa Hudgens.

Wow everyone at the fraternity form with Jessica Stroup's smoky blurple eyes. This look might take certain variations according to skin color. Darker skin women should stay away from the pastels because they will make you look ashy. Go for deeper, richer tones with a glitter.
