I am posting my last two replys in other areas since I feel that bedbugs, other mites such as bird mites and demodex mites even spiders and fleas etc. are at least a part if not the starting point for many morgellon sufferers and what kicked off their illness. See also Kritters thread about bedbugs as vectors from 2009. There is some good basic info about bedbugs in general in this thread.
From Feb. 16, 2012 as replied to in another thread.
BUGS! My complete story for the record!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is what I know. We started with what looked like mosquito bites. Large about the size of a nickel to a quarter. Swollen, extremely itchy. Some would swell to the size of a golf ball inbedded in.
We TORE the house apart looking for bedbugs since this was my first thought since heard they are a growing problem. Found NOTHING! encased mattresses and pillows in those dust mite covers.
Bites continued, one here one there on the three of us. Spaces of time with no bites at all. I go to the dermatologist. She looks thinks some type of bug, but actually does not think bedbug. She scraps for scabies, can find none and says it doesn't look like scabies either. Asks if I have been around bugs. I say yes, when this started we had been out in the garden alot with our pumpkins for Halloween. First "bites" occurred the first to middle part of Oct. 2011. She give me premethrin cream anyway. Says I cannot use it on kids at all and to look into an exterminator.
I put this cream all over me as directed.....EXCEPT I do not put in on the back sides of my hands. I go to bed at 3am I awoke to the most painful burning and stinging I have ever experienced. It felt like a thousand tiny scorpions or bees were attacking my hands YET I could SEE NOTHING! I ran to bathroom and ran cold water on my hands as I watched them swell up with several large bites the size of quarters or bigger and itch that is out of this world! It was like all of "THEM" moved to my hands to escape the permethrine cream. It was like a bad sci-fi movie! I wouldn't have believed it probably either if I had not experienced this myself.
I continued to look for bugs, nothing. Then the itching and crawling started EVERYWHERE! Took to the salt baths....normally I am a shower person........had all the black specs come out when inspecting contents of bathtub. Reading everything I can on the internet to try to figure this out since derm. did not know. Bites continue on us with a couple here and a couple there.
One night not long before I joined this group. I am lying in tub of salt water and so I am low to the ground. I see this bug come crawling out of some drawers that sit next to the tub where we keep extra soap and towels. I move to get out........it is smart and leaves into the drawer again. I go on a search with a flashlight and find it hiding in the corner of a lower drawer.
I have positively identified this as a bed bug. I double bagged in zip locks and within 3 days it lays about 20 eggs in the bag. It is the only one I have caught of adult size.
However, we are now getting these small pin prick size bites. My son has them all over his torso. I probably have them all over my back, but I can't see back there well. I am using a cream that others have mentioned, but I don't dare say what it is...if you want to know private message me. This cream is "chasing" them and they don't like it.
I am thinking bird mites, collembola and bed bugs now. But this does not explain the black specs and fibers in the bites.....or maybe it does and no one realizes what they are yet.
I have 90% symptoms of lymes, but haven't found a doctor yet to treat it.
My son is exhibiting signs of lymes and tell me his body aches and vision issues etc. Our hair is "shedding" etc. I have heart palpitations, sweating, etc. etc.
I stopped to answer the phone in the middle to typing this. An exterminator that I called, called back. He will not touch bed bugs or suspected collembola. He sticks with the things he knows how to kill he says. Recommended taking the things I have collected to an "etomologist" at the University or Dept. of agriculture.
Yesterday I was able to "roll and then "pinch" a very tiny little bug off my arm in an area that I felt a sting. I have tried to do this before and come up empty handed and by chance I caught it. I looked at it under the microscope. Might be a mite of some type or a very newly hatched bed bug. I kind of squished it trying to get ahold of it.
We are in a nightmare and doctors, exterminators are for the most part clueless as to what is going on.
I have been reading that collembola and bird mites etc. that the thinking is changing that they can attack humans and live on them. One article I read recommends using cedar oil.
Does anyone know where to get this? Anyone use this? anyone have confirmed collembola infestation?
This is all so very very freaky to me.......I think of this stuff as happening to people who live in filth and squalor........we are very very clean people. Bathe everyday, clean clothes everyday, vacuum and clean and, clean sheets once a week etc. etc. Eat quite well and are now eating better than ever before. So, this admitting to bugs in my house is very hard for me to do. But I need to tell the full story!
I am not delusional, I am not selling anything. I am a mom, wife, room mother to my son's class.......did a Valentines day party for 25 kids yesterday. We are normal people living in a NIGHTMARE!!!
