Ben Gibbard is almost officially single. The Death Cab for Cutie frontman's wife Zooey Deschanel filed for divorce this week, not long after the pair separated. The paperwork was filed in L.A., and lists the couple's date of separation as October 31.A rep for the pair said the decision to call it quits after two years of marriage was "mutual and amicable." They listed "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the divorce, reports the LA Times.
Interestingly, the paperwork also listed Deschanel's financial situation. Get this: Apparently she has about $3 million in assets, with $95,000 a year coming in from her band She & Him. The New Girl actress has no credit card debt. She apparently spends $22,500 a month: $4,000 a month for mortgage, $2,000 a month for clothes, and $1,500 goes to charity.
This will be no Kobe Bryant divorce, clearly. The couple didn't have children, either.
