The American born fashion designer now based in London, Ben de Lisi began working with high street giant Debenhams back in 1992, but it wasn't until 2008 when he launched his day wear range with them, and he was then asked to redesign the Principles collections. At the moment, he has an expanding collection within the department store that contains Womens, Kids, Gifts and Toys, and Home and Furniture. The Womenswear collection includes day dresses and evening dresses, coats and jackets, accessories and jewellery, handbags and purses, jeans, tops, suits, and even a petite range.
The collection has been designed for the modern woman to look elegant no matter what she is doing both during the day and at night, but also in a way which doesn't look too flashy which could otherwise suggest 'special occasion'. His dresses have been designed to look really stunning, yet subtle so that they don't scream out at people- instead, they are simply eye-catching.
Each dress is extremely fashionable, and despite Principles being more known to cater for women in their 30s, there are some really stylish pieces that would catch the attention of a woman in even her early twenties, especially the shorter dresses. The jeans, however, are really for the woman in her late 20s to 30s, as they are designed to be an elegant bootcut style and the younger women tend to enjoy the skinny and boyfriend jeans. The tops are really stunning, with each one suggesting 'stylish and classical', each with perfect amounts of detailing for all occasions. The jewellery is very modern and definitely on-trend with the right colours, but may be suited to the older woman as each piece is, again, nicely elegant.
All in all, it really is a gorgeous collection, definitely worth having a look at so check it out
here and women of all ages should find a few key pieces to really enjoy!
