Kodak Zi6 Zi8 Zi10 PlayTouch camcorder manual focus trick
With Kodak’s Zi6, Zi8, and PlayTouch (Zi10) pocket camcorders, objects within a few feet of the lens tend to come out blurry in both normal and macro modes, due to the limitations of the fixed focus lens. But if you carefully adjust the normal/macro mode switch to an intermediate position, you can achieve razor-sharp focus on subjects of any distance. I made this video demonstrating the manual focus “hack” on my Kodak Zi6 (which I have since sold), but it also works identically well on the Zi8 and the new Zi10 “PlayTouch” pocket sized video cameras from Kodak, or almost any other brand of fixed focus camera with a similar normal/macro mode switch.

From what I researched they both are very similar in clarity. The Zx1 is more “rugged” or weather resistant however the Z16 might have better audio recording.
All of my sources have been through You-tube. I actually just placed an order for the ZX1 today!
I will post a review once I start using it.
