Pain relievers?
I was in a horrible accident and now I’ve been on pain medication for about three months. From what I’ve been told I’m taking some fairly heavy duty stuff. I need to start weaning off and I have a plan for that but I’m still really scared of the pain that I get every time I forget to take them and I don’t think I could face that permanently. I guess if I had to I could cheat the system and keep taking them for a bunch of years, however I don’t like how they feel, I can’t think as well… . Is there anything I could do myself that could relieve the pain I get?
Go to a pain management clinic. They will help you with your pain.
Talk with your dr about pain management there are excercises you can do to work out the pained parts of your body.. Id rather live with pain than be hooked on drugs the rest of my life not saying you are hooked but alot of pain medications have addicting qualities to them which makes you crave them… I understand what you are going threw my 1st husband was in a car accident and was taken off his medication and when they finally put him on something else he wanted more his dr could care less and gave him anything he wanted to keep him out of her office this in time made her mess up and she wrote 9 prescriptions one counter acted with the opther and he died from it so whatever you do please becareful
go and see a doctor first, take good paracetamol tablets
You might want to talk to a doctor about your dependency and coming off the pain meds, as withdrawal from some of them can cause seizures and other problems. As an alternative, look into pain management centers, acupuncture, massage or physical therapy. Now you have two problems instead of one, as you now also have to deal with your prescription medication dependency.
