James Harrison's Mom Charged With Assault A local VFW threw a party with more than 50 people Thursday night to watch the game with Mildred [Harrison] and celebrate the local hero. Sometime around 10 PM, the party turned violent according to police. (This was about the same time Steelers fans started to worry their season was ending.) Several witnesses told police they were "pushed, punched and struck with beer bottles."  

Silverback's momma got into some sort of tussle at a football-viewing party on Thursday night in Akron, Ohio. She and two others were charged with assault for all sorts of punching, kicking, and bottle-throwing as the Steelers' season unraveled. [PFT]  

Steelers linebacker James Harrison told the Post-Gazette today he was fined $5,000 by the NFL for punching Cincinnati offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth Sunday.  

The mother of Pittsburgh Steeler James Harrison has been charged in a fight.  The Akron Beacon Journal reports 62-year-old Mildred Harrison was charged with assault after a brawl broke out Thursday night inside a VFW hall in Akron, Ohio.  

Less than a week after saying his teammates needed to focus on doing their own job, the Steelers' James Harrison admittedly did not heed his own words.
