My Betsey Johnson Experience & The Fall RTW 2012 Collection
So you guys know that I was in NYC for fashion week, ok so let’s get to the point. I could not get in the fashion show because like usual it was to full capacity! I was devasted but did get an invite to the after party! Hell, I was happy to even get that lol. Something in the back of my mind was telling me to get there early, I should have listened. When we arrived at the Time Warner building the line was wrapped twice! I am NOT use to standing in lines because I usually go right into events as media or because I am always on a V.I.P list. This set was extremely foreign to me and I was in another state, they didn’t really care about me being Talking With Tami, I got a quick reality check!
So the lady looked on the list and said, “yes, we do have you on the media list but you still have to wait in the line, it’s at full capacity”.I almost fainted and I knew by the time I would get in, Betsey would be long gone and I would NEVER get a chance to meet her! I just kept praying when this lady then suddenly appeared and said, “oh hey Tami wait one minute, we can get you in”. I was too happy! About five minutes later we were in the partee! There was Betsey in all her sparkle dancing and smiling! I almost passed out as I went to reach for my camera and they said, NO photos! What in the world! I came all this way and I couldn’t take any photos…OMG! It was so packed and so many people I was ready to leave. I did finally make my way over to her and said, “Betsey I love you and your work!” She grabbed my hand and said, “thank you sweetie!” I guess the bodyguard saw me talking to her and thats when he allowed me to get a few photos! I was grateful but man was that A LOT of work! She is VERY tiny in person, very chipper, upbeat and a ball of fire!
I didn’t get to see her fashion show because I was across town when she showed, so I am literally just now seeing her Fall Collection. It was everything I imagined, fun,sparkly,poofy,embellished,mod funk,bright,full of pink and more! I love it and without further adieu here are my fav pieces in the collection! Thanks Betsey for being so sweet to me! I am a happy camper now that I met my favorite fashion icon of all time! Check out the pics I snapped of her at the after party too! xoxo
