She has said that her distinct and raspy voice came from the many hours she has spent in smoky bars and clubs singing while trying to break into the music business. Her performances in Dangerous (1935) and Jezebel (1938) earned her Oscars. She is best known for her character Margo Channing in All About Eve (1950). One of her classmates at John Murray Anderson's Dramatic School in New York was Lucille Ball. Spring is here, or at least that is what the weather seems to be screaming. I had a vintage shopping frenzy this morning, I think it was induced by caffeine, either way, there are now eight handbags smiling at me from my bedroom floor.
