I'm so infatuated with MY GOLD MASK after seeing them perform at Sheena Beaston + The Culture of Me 's CMJ Showcase party the other night. They discovered a piece of gold. We've got some great videos from the show to share, but for now check out their cover of BETTE DAVIS EYES originally by my favorite Kim Carnes. This band will go far - wait till you see them live! ... Read Full Story

Although I don't normally post video's... this is one I couldn't resist. On my way home today listening to the radio I caught a flashback from the 80's... The provocative song about a femme fatale... Kim Carnes' Greatest Hit of All - Bette Davis Eyes. I adore it to this day. Kim writes about her biggest hit: "I heard this song about a year before I finally cut it. My band, Val Garay and I rehearsed it for three days before coming up with the right feel. It was a completely collaborative effort between all of us. The next day we cut this track ... Who sang Bette Davis Eyes? Kim Carnes is the singer of the iconic song Bette Davis Eyes and for that she won her Grammy Award. She has said that her distinct and raspy voice came from the many hours she has spent in smoky bars and clubs singing while trying to break into the music business. The original submission to Kim Carnes of the song was rejected but after a whole new instrumental arrangement was made that the song was accepted which in turn became a huge domestic and international hit.
