NEW YORK -- Betty White plays football, babies talk about "milkaholics" and a house made of Bud Light cans falls slowly apart. It must be the Super Bowl -- or at least the advertising showcase that entertains amid the gridiron action.  

I was most disappointed by the Betty White ad. It was like: 'Awesome! Betty White playing football and roughing it up with the guys? Talking shit to that stupid frat guy quarterback? Love this ad! . . . Wait, what? Oh she's the butt of the joke? Being Betty White is a bad thing? WELL THEN FUCK YOU SNICKERS. FUCK YOU IN YOUR TAINTHOLE.'

Veteran actress Betty White has legions of admirers (is there anyone who doesn’t love this national treasure?), and they are now urging NBC producer Lorne Michaels to sign the 88-year-old Golden Girl star as host of an episode of the equally venerable late-night hit Saturday Night Live.  

For Snickers, it was sweet revenge. Three years after getting hammered by gay activists for what many felt was an anti-gay Super Bowl commercial, the Mars candy walked off with the Super Bowl's best-liked commercial in USA TODAY's Ad Meter.  

Frat humor dominated the Super Bowl commercials. Even the spot with Florida Gator quarterback Tim Tebow took an unexpected turn to slapstick that deflated the furor over its “celebrate life” advocacy. So, the supposedly crazy-controversial commercial for Christian pro-life organization Focus on the Family—featuring crybaby bible-thumping quarterback Tim Tebow—has arrived. And how is it? Meh. More exciting is this photoshop of Snooki in Sarah Palin's hand. Get it? Because her cribnotes are supposed to be there? Anyway. It wasn't really that substantial and people have already forgotten about it, because Betty White's Snickers commercial...
