Letters to Bevin Nicole Powers

A number of bloggers are writing personal letters to console Bevin Nicole Powers for her oh-so-close loss in the Bachelor.

This is an excerpt from one of my favorites:

"I watched, as millions of others did, you and Andy fall in love on the world stage. Now the grief of loss is yours and yours alone.

But you are not alone. For anybody who has loved, and loved truly, loss has been a close companion. It is only by the sheer beauty and ecstasy of one that the sheer misery of the other is felt.

First, there is thanks to be given and gratitude for both you and Andy (indeed the others, as well as ABC!) for participating in such a public manner on a journey of risk and discovery. A few found love. And the love that sprouted between you two and flourished in the last episode was felt and recognized by anyone who has felt love before."

thanks for the compliments on my post. i don't expect bevin to read or respond. i'm sure she has her hands full. perhaps one day in the distant or not so distant future, she'll be able to look back and may come across this post or others written for her. it took me several years to come to terms with a relationship that lasted but several months. "i've been in a 6 mo. relationship for the last six years."!! and still not fully overcome. some relationships are hard to let go.... or won't let go of you. in my semi-public (on-line) relationship, the words of others who were witness to our journey often helped me through the difficulties. i may not have acknowledged or thanked all who took the trouble to write. perhaps this letter goes a little in the way of giving back.... or paying it forward.
