Beyoncé and Jay-Z welcome their first child together and while we're anxiously awaiting images of their lil girl somewhere uber-glam (or on the cover of Fortune)- one question still remains. Why the name (confirmed by Gwyneth Paltrow via Twitter) Blue Ivy?

Sources have said that it can be an ode to the number 4 (IV), which is Bey's latest album title, wedding date (April 4th), and the couples birth dates (Bey on Sept. 4 and Jay on Dec. 4). Like mother, the baby's name now starts with "B" and it may also be a nod at the 'Blueprint' album by Hov. I guess we'll know for sure once they dole out those press exclusives.
