When I worked in the Park in ‘78, we’d often see them. I’d walk around with the night watchman in the wee hours, and we’d catch a couple in flashlight beams. Usually they never bothered anyone. Seems this one tried to nosh on a 6 year old. The trails of Big Bend have many good high spots from which to pounce upon small fry. Closures are certainly smart ... but if they catch this beast, there’ll be others to fill in the gap. It’s wilderness...
