Shortly after a brief snowstorm descended on Gillette Stadium yesterday, Patriots coach Bill Belichick delivered a much louder strike. According to a report by the Providence Journal, Belichick sent four Patriot players - Randy Moss, Adalius Thomas, Gary Guyton and Derrick Burgess - home for the day after being tardy to an 8 a.m. meeting.  

Many would argue that the New England Patriots’ slide began that fateful Sunday vs. the Indianapolis Colts when Bill Belichick decided to go for it on fourth-and-2 at the end of the game, but his biggest mistake was sending four players home from practice last week -- and alienating Randy Moss in the process.

The New England Patriots need just one more win to reach the playoffs. Going far in the postseason will require substantial improvement. An unimpressive 17-10 victory over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday won't send the hopes of Patriots fans soaring.
